The Independent Music Awards are back with their seventh edition, and the deadline to participate is open from 9 to 27 February. One of the 26 categories which are included is the best album in Basque, and applicants must submit their applications through the web premiosdelamusicaindependiente.com. Last year Basque group Oreka TX won the Etxepare Award for the Best Album in Euskara thanks to their latest work, Silex.
The Independent Music Awards are directed to artists or bands that have released recordings in 2014 and fulfill the conditions on the bases, and are also open to all professionals who have a place in the professional categories that are addressed.
These awards were born in 2009 to recognize the creation, diversity and artistic quality of independent productions. The main objectives are to promote, nationally and internationally, the music produced by SMEs of Spanish music industry, to inform about emerging artists to new audiences, promote the digitization of music content, and to bring music and its production process to the public consolidating the recognition of creative activity and spreading the value of intellectual property. In this 7th edition, the guest country will be Costa Rica.
