Uxue Alberdi at the Thessaloniki Book Fair

Uxue Alberdi will be at in the Thessaloniki Book Fair in Greece, held from 3rd to 8th May, with support from the Etxepare Basque Institute. The writer, journalist and bertsolari will present her latest novel "JenisJoplin" and take part in a round table discussion with other authors.

Uxue Alberdi will be at in the Thessaloniki Book Fair in Greece, held from 3rd to 8th May, with support from the Etxepare Basque Institute. The writer, journalist and bertsolari will present her latest novel "JenisJoplin" and take part in a round table discussion with other authors.

On May 5th she will join other Croatian and Brazilian writers to discuss the difficulties involved in writing in a minority language. On May 6th she will present her novel "JenisJoplin" in a session entitled "Restructuring the Basque identity in the 21st century". After the session, Alberdi will present a colloquium with the literary critic and translator Efi Giannopolou.

The cultural fair, organized annually at the International Exhibition and Congress Center in Thessaloniki, offers visitors the opportunity to explore aspects of contemporary publishing worldwide. Every year the fair brings together hundreds of publishers, writers, translators, literary agents, journalists, booksellers, librarians, institutions and more. The fair has become one of the leading cultural events in the country.
