The renowned Basque pianist Marta Zabaleta will offer a concert on 24 February at the Real academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando of Madrid, to present her latest work: the solo piano suite "Goyescas or Los majos enamorados", edited by ‘La mà de Guido’.

Together with the musicologist José Luis García del Busto she will talk about this masterpiece that has perpetuated the name of the pianist Enrique Granados around the world, a hundred years after his premature and tragic death in the waters of the Channel.

Goyescas for piano, presented in 1911, is the greatest work for piano of Granados. His pianistic tradition, both in technique and style aspects, is more than a hundred years old, and his influence in the art of piano is evident. Marta Zabaleta represents the current generation of pianists that keep alive the legacy of the music and the pianistic conception that Granados had and that transmited in his school, the Academy Granados-Marshall, that Zabaleta currently directs.
