The University of the Basque Country Professor Beatriz Zabalondo offered two lectures at the University of Leipzig

By initiative of the Department of Romance Languages at the University of Leipzig, Beatriz Zabalondo offered two conferences in the German city this week: Media and social networks in Euskera and Basque sociolinguistic situation in the Basque Country. These talks were organized in the framework of the lecture series "Language contact and language variation in Spain / Sprachkontakt und Sprachvariation in Spanien" organized by the university.

As Zabalondo holds the post of president of the Board of Berria group, the 60 students who attended the talks had the opportunity to satisfy their curiosity by asking questions about the Basque media and the sociolinguistic situation in the Basque Country. Among those attending were, of course, the students of the Basque Language and Culture readership of the Etxepare Basque Institute at the University of Leipzig.
