Euskara. Kultura. Mundura.
The International Street Arts Festival FEST´ARTSof Libourne opens today until August 8. Thanks to the agreement between the festival and the Etxepare Basque Institute, Basque dance and theater companies have the opportunity to attend the festival through the "Euskadi à Libourne" program; this year it includes 4 Basque companies: Compañía Dikothomia, Shakti Olaizola, Ganso & Cía and Kukai Dantza Konpainia.
Dikothomia will present the show "Spazi ... o";Shakti Olaizola will bring "... Irakuriz" to Libourne; Ganso & Cía will go with "Walkman" and Kukai Dantza Konpainia will attend the festival with the show "Sorbatza". All of them will perform on August 7 and 8.
Since 2011, the Etxepare Basque Institute works with Fest´arts to disseminate Basque street theater: through the "Euskadi à Libourne" project Basque companies have the opportunity to be part of the festival. It is a great opportunity to show their work to international professionals as well as to relate to new audiences and artists of the sector. It is a program promoted by the Etxepare Institute and the city of Libourne, that was born in collaboration with the Institut Français of Bilbao.
The festival also serves as a bridge between the region of Aquitaine and the Basque Country; a clear example is the co-production between Les Commandos Percu and Deabru Beltzak that bore fruit in the show "Le choc du tambeurs- Danborren talka " in last year´s edition of Fest’Arts.
