Euskara. Kultura. Mundura.
The director of Topic (Tolosa Puppets International Centre), Idoya Otegui, is these days in the Brazilian city of Sao Vicente taking part as a guest at the International Festival of Theatre for Children, which takes place from January 23 to February 1.
It is the first time that the director of Topic visits this festival, a young one but with excellent projection. She has taken part in a roundtable discussion on the theater and children, which took place on the 28th, and in which shared discussion, among others, with Rodrigo Eloi –theater director at SESC -, Amauri Alves -culture councilor of the City of Sao Vicente and Director of the Festival- and the director of the Puppet Museum of Lisbon, María José Machado. In addition to the roundtable, Otegui has gone to the Festival to present the Topic and she will do that on the 30th within the Festival.
The director of Topic has also attended the largest annual theatrical play on beach sand: the staging of the founding of the town San Vicente. This is the 33rd edition and, this time, they have performed with giant puppets. "When I heard about the play and how this year the stars were to be the puppets I did not hesitate to go and also I was surprised to have the chance to participate. It was a curious thing that is widely accepted, as there were more than 2,000 people following it in live"
