The Basque language and the Basque cultural industries at the London Language Live Show

Once again, the Etxepare Basque Institute has installed the stand dedicated to Basque language at  The London Language Show Live  (October 17-19), an important annual event for the dissemination of the languages and language industries. The Association of Industries of the Basque language, Langune, will also work in this space until Sunday.

 
Moreover, the Institute has organized three activities within the fair program. Today, October 17, the Professor at the University of Liverpool Juan Arana Cobos will offer a Basque language course (13:30, Language Taster). Tomorrow, October 18, the renowned Basque writer Kirmen Uribe –who is in the United Kingdom these days on a literary tour- , which will offer a poetry reading from his book "Bitartean heldu eskutik"  at The Piazza; they will also screen the short film "Urrezko eraztuna", inspired on a poem by Uribe. And on October 19, the Basque Language and Culture reader at the University of Liverpool, Gorka Mercero, will discuss the current situation of the Basque language in the conference "Normalization Anxieties and the Need for Post-identity", also at The Piazza.
