Tempo de exilio: the first Joseba Sarrionaindia poetry anthology in Galician language

The Tambo Collection of the Kalandraka publishing house will present this afternoon in Vigo (Galicia) Tempo de exilio, the first anthology of poetry by the Basque author Joseba Sarrionandia ever published in Galician language. The book contains poems chosen from the works Izuen gordelekuetan barrena (Bilboko Aurrezki Kutxa, 1981) Gartzelako poemak (Susa, 1992) y Hnuy illa nyha majah yahoo (Elkar, 1995),  plus some other poems sang by Ruper Ordorika in Memoriaren mapan (Elkar, 2006).  The translation into Galician, which has been subsidized by the Etxepare Basque Institute, has been done  by Isaac Xubínwho in2012 was awarded  with the Lois Tobío Award for the translation of the Basque poems compilation book Alén da fronteira .

 

The poems chosen reflect the odyssey lived by the author from 1985 until today: the summary of a long life in exile. Today, the author will be follow the presentation of the book through the distance, but his voice can be very clearly heard in this interview by Luis Rei Núñez, responsible for the Tambo collection.
