Sorbonne Nouvelle: round table ‘The Basque conflict. Literary, cinematographic and feminist perspectives’

On 20 October a round table will be held at 2pm at the Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris, organised by the Etxepare Basque Institute´s lectureship programme at the Sorbonne. Entitled ´Le conflit basque. Regards littéraires, cinématographiques et féministes´ (The Basque conflict. Literary, cinematographic and feminist perspectives), the speakers will delve into the contemporary history of Euskal Herria from different perspectives, with the help of lecturer Teresa Larruzea.

The event will take place in room A608 of the Campus Nation. and will be attended by the writer Eider Rodriguez, University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) sociologist Olatz Dañobeitia, UPV/EHU philologist Lorea Azpeitia and Etxepare’s Sorbonne Nouvelle University lecturer Thomas Lacoste.

Lacoste will give the symposium entitled "Invisibilisation. Illuminating the unseen, speaking the unspoken. A look back at a tetralogy on the process of conflict transformation in the Basque Country"; Rodiguez’s, "Telling from the margins: gender, sexual identity and childhood in literature on the Basque conflict"; Dañobeitia will speak on "Women´s experiences in the Independent Left in the 90s: dialogue between different gender regimes"; and Azpeitia on "Janisjoplin: a transformation of the personality crossed by political conflicts".
