Open call: samples of literary works

One of the aims of the Etxepare Basque Institute is to promote literature originally written in Basque language to an international readership. It is therefore essential to have samples translated into foreign languages.

For this reason, the Institute is once again publishing a call for proposals for samples of literary works that may be suitable for promotion abroad, with the idea of facilitating their translation into English or French.

This call is also aimed at international operators. So, if you are a publisher or an agent based outside the Basque Country you can apply to it.

These samples shall not exceed 15% of the book. Proposals may be submitted by writers, publishers or agents. The call will remain open until the allocation is exhausted.

This call is automatic, what means that all applications that meet the requirements will receive financial support.  Once translated, the samples will be published at www.basquebooks.eus, a website that aims to provide everything needed to translate Basque literature into other language, such as, samples, authors, translators and funding schemes.
