NYC Basque Window: Kirmen Uribe, Mikel Urdangarin and André & Dorine

A window to Basque culture will run from 29 April to 8 May in the heart of New York City at the off-Broadway Theatre at Saint Clement´s. Performing arts, literature and music from the Basque Country will travel to the United States with support from the Basque Delegation in NY and the Etxepare Basque Institute. Kirmen Uribe, Mikel Urdangarin and Kulunka Teatro will be in the United States with their latest work. Invitations are now available.

Biscayan author Kirmen Uribe will present the Spanish version of his latest novel, ´La vida anterior de los delfines´ (2021) on 3 May at 7pm. Uribe will have a conversation with author and translator Ida Novey. The presentation will take place in Spanish.

The concert by Mikel Urdangarin will be on 8 May at 8pm. The musician is on a world tour in celebration his 25-year-long career.  Urdangarin (vocals and acoustic guitar) will be accompanied by Rafa Rueda (electric guitar) and Ander Hurtado de Saratxo (percussion). The three musicians will perform a retrospective of Urdangarin´s musical career featuring some of his greatest hits.

The highly acclaimed mask and theatre show, ´André & Dorine´, by Kulunka Teatro, will be at the Theatre at Saint Clement´s from 29 April to 29 May. The show began its worldwide tour in 2010 at the prestigious Manizales International Theatre Festival in Colombia. Since then, it has been in more than 30 countries. ´André & Dorine´ tells the story of an elderly couple struggling with dementia.
