Three Basque companies at Fest ´Arts in Libourne

From 3 to 7 August, the FEST ´ARTS festival of street art will be held in Libourne, which this year will feature the Basque companies Amaia Elizaran, Lasala and Deabru Beltzak.

Pamplona to host the third edition of 948 Merkatua

The third edition of 948 Merkatua, the Arts Market of Navarra, will take place in Pamplona from Wednesday to Friday. The event will gather together some 700 professionals of the arts and cultural industries and will feature more than 50 activities, including conferences, workshops and art exhibitions.

Basque Window at the Le Rocher de Palmer hall in Bordeaux

Every year in autumn the Le Rocher de Palmer cultural centre in Bordeaux opens its doors to Basque art and culture. This year an exhibition of the work of Navarrese photographers Juantxo Puerta and Ignacio Rubio was on show on November 5. And on the same day, there were two concerts by the Iñaki Salvador sextet and the folk group Mielotxin.

Once again, the street art festival Fest’Arts of Libourne will host two Basque shows. On August 8, 9 and 10, the streets of Libourne in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region will be filled with dance, theatre, music, circus acts and more at the festival’s 28th edition.

The literature festival Lettres du Monde, held in the French region of Nouvelle Aquitaine, will be feature an appearance by Basque author Kirmen Uribe, among others. Uribe will present the French translation of his latest novel, Elkarrekin esnatzeko ordua (L’heure de nous réveiller ensemble; The Hour of Waking Together in English), and will deliver lectures in a number of towns.

A window to Basque culture in Bordeaux

The Le Rocher de Palmer cultural centre in Bordeaux will open its doors again to Basque art and culture in autumn. This year, an exhibition by photographer Patxi Laskarai will be held in November, as well as two Basque dance performances by Bilaka and So.K. on the 16th.

Twelve Basque production companies attend Sunny Side of the Doc fair

From 25 to 28 June, the French city of La Rochelle is hosting the Sunny Side of the Doc, the main international documentary market, which will once again be attended by a large representation of the Basque audiovisual sector under the Basque Audiovisual brand, created and promoted by Eiken (Basque audiovisual cluster), Zineuskadi and the Etxepare Basque Institute.
