Neomak, Airu and Kulto Kultibo selected for AIEnRuta 2023

Euskara. Kultura. Mundura.

The Basque groups Neomak, Airu and Kulto Kultibo have been selected for the AIEnRuta circuit and will perform several concerts throughout the first half of 2023. Through this programme, supported in part by the Etxepare Basque Institute, AIE (management entity for music performers and executant musicians) promotes live music in Spain.

Each edition has two seasons: the first runs from January to June and the second from September to December. The groups are selected by a committee made up of journalists, theatre programmers and cultural managers across Spain.

This first selection includes a total of sixteen groups and soloists, including the three groups mentioned above, who will perform four concerts with support from the AIE. The musicians will also have a promotional plan in different specialised media, including appearances on three Radio 3 programmes.

Neomak brings together seven female voices, melodies full of witchcraft, tambourine and dance. Neomak draws on tradition, but with fresh interpretations and innovative staging. All seven women have been dedicated to music since they were children, previously performing with Kepa Junkera under the name "Sorginak". "Neomak" is their new project.

Airu, in turn, are a young, band from Bilbao, who love catchy refrains and have just released their second EP, ´Do It for the Catharsis´. Airu plan to steal your heart with their sentimental, melancholic, melody-laden pop.

Finally, Kulto Kultibo is a combination of rap/reggae in Spanish, combining the latest raggamuffin with classic, solid 90s rap.

The AIEnRuta programme is known for bringing rising talent to the public, while also featuring groups and soloists known to the general public, including Anita Parker, Ekiza, La Furia, Nøgen, Verde Prato and Ezpalak.
