A group of cultural stakeholders from the Basque Country will travel to Flanders for a series of meetings, continuing the initiative organised by the Etxepare Basque Institute. After 15 Flemish professionals visited Donostia, Bilbao and Vitoria-Gasteiz in November 2021, the same number of their Basque counterparts will travel to Brussels, Ghent and Leuven with the aim of strengthening cultural ties between the two territories.
From 31 May to 3 June, 15 Basque cultural agents and representatives will take part in cultural visits, meetings and other activities. The Etxepare Basque Institute organised these encounters between Basque creators and cultural stakeholders from Flanders to increase mutual knowledge, promote cultural exchange between the two territories, encourage creation and dissemination, and exchange experiences and know-how.
The meeting will serve to take stock of the areas in which both territories are already working together, including the cultural and creative industries, biotechnology, artificial intelligence, climate change and tourism, and to explore new areas of work.
It will bring together actors from both the public and private sectors in the fields of performing arts, film and audiovisual, literature, music, art and language.
