The 77th Festival de Cannes, one of the most important international film festivals, will be held from 14 to 25 May. At the same time, the industrial section of the festival, Marché du Film, will begin. The prestigious fair will be held until 22 May and will once again be represented by Basque Audiovisual.


The fair will be attended by ten Basque productions and Basque. Audiovisual. It will have a stand for the dissemination and promotion of Basque cinema in Cannes. These are the Basque productions that will be presented at the fair:

Fiction - Feature Films:

  • Daniela Forever’ (2024, Nacho Vigalondo). It will also participate in the Fantastic 7 section, chosen by the Sitges Film Festival. To complete this selection, seven prestigious festivals from all over the world have selected projects to be pitched to investors, producers, distributors and international sales agents.
  • Bide guztiak irekiak daude’ (All the Roads Are Open) (2026, Iratxe Fresneda).
  • Lamiak’, (2026, Irati Santiago).
  • De luz y de color’ (Of Light and Color) - 2025, Kepa Sojo eta Sonia Pacios).
  • Anoush et les vagabonds’ (Anoush and the Vagabonds)- (2025, Valérie Massadian)
  • La mala gent’ (Bad people) (2025, Amat Vallmajor del Pozo).
  • Olivia’ (2024, Sofía Petersen).

Animation - Short films:

  • Witchy Crash’ (2023, Virginia Díez, Lian Villegas, Kamila Kin, Aritz Ruiz, Ruijie Zheng, Estibaliz Amorós, Enela Ramos).
  • Trott’ (2024, Leire Martinez)
  • Goodbye Kepler’ (2024, Nerea Ayala, Patricia Fañanás, David Modroño and Iraia Yarto).

With the support of ICEX, Basque. Audiovisual. will once again have a stand where information will be provided on the Basque works that will be present at the fair. The digital catalogue of Basque. Audiovisual. digital catalogue will be available during the festival.

In addition, ´Tasio´ (1984), the debut film by the Basque director Montxo Armendáriz, will be screened in the classics section of the Cannes Festival after being restored in digital format with 4K resolution by the Basque Film Library.
