Liverpool University offers research scholarship in Basque Studies
Euskara. Kultura. Mundura.
Supported by the Etxepare Basque Institute, the Manuel Irujo Chair at the University of Liverpool began the Manuel Irujo Scholarship in Basque Studies in 2019. From now until June 15, students are invited to apply for the 2020 scholarship.
The scholarship offers one fees-only bursary to support a Master of Research (MRes) in Basque Studies beginning in September 2020. The scholarship provides full fees at the Home/EU student rate (approximately £4,327) for students undertaking the one-year MRes in Modern Languages and Cultures in the Basque Studies pathway.
The University encourages applications from students wishing to undertake research related to the language, cultural production, cultural history or politics of the Basque Country. In particular, they encourage projects in the areas of memory studies, exile/diaspora studies, and European/cosmopolitan studies, all of which remind us of the biography and lifeworld of Manuel Irujo.
