Korrontzi will perform at the Atlantic Connections section of the WOMEX 14

The live program of  the twentieth edition of the WOMEX, the world´s largest trade fair for world music, has been presented at the City of Culture in Santiago de Compostela, the city where the meeting will be held from 22 to 26 October

As the organizers advanced, the Official Section of the program will include a selection of artists from over 30 countries. Besides, the Atlantic Connections stage will host a performance by the Basque folk band Korrontzi.

WOMEX is the most important international professional market of world music, that includes a  trade show and also around 60 showcases (concerts). This year they hope to gather  2,500 delegates and 1,260 companies from over 90 countries, among which there will be 800 programmers , over 500 record labels, publishers and distributors, as well as more than 300 journalists (and 130 radio stations). In addition, it also hosts a DJ WOMEX Summit, films and conferences and consulting by 80 specialists from over 25 countries.

In addition to the concert by Korrontzi, the Basque music will once again be represented at the trade show at the Euskadiko Soinuak  program stand, that will become the meeting point for several Basque music companies and associatons. This program is promoted by the Department of Education, Culture and Language Policy of the Basque Government, in collaboration with several industry associations of music, and also includes the participation of Etxepare Basque Institute regarding international promotion.
