En ‘Binded Bodies’, Artekale (Association of Basque Street Arts) and Circuscentrum (Flemish Centre for Circus Arts), join forces to establish professional connections between the Basque Country and Flanders, fostering synergies and facilitating the exchange of knowledge. ‘Binded Bodies’ focuses on artistic practices in which the body takes centre stage. Together with Zirkozaurre, on the Basque side, and Cirklabo and Ell Circo D’ell Fuego, on the Flemish side, this initiative is dedicated to forging cross-border and inter-regional exchanges that offer a platform for Flemish and Basque companies to collaborate and nurture their creative processes, all the while constructing a fresh professional network. The project is built around three initiatives:

Zirkozaurre
Zirkozaurre is an area for circus arts located in Bilbao’s Zorrozaurre district. The promoters have been working for more than ten years to create, practice, teach and professionalize circus art. The non-profit association is committed to the circus and the local environment. Zirkozaurre has its own company, performances and a school with specialized teachers. Zirkozaurre is where artists from different places discover the ideal setting to progress in their creative processes.
Ell Circo D´ell Fuego
Ell Circo D´ell Fuego is a space open to anyone attracted to the world of circus. As circus pioneers, Ell Circo D´ell Fuego is a catalyst for technological innovation in Flanders, focusing on innovation and experimentation. Their techniques include the half moon, the German wheel, the Russian bar and the flying trapeze.
