The EUNIC network Board of Directors will meet on December 11 at the Basque Government delegation in Brussels. It will be the second time in history for the Basque delegation to host this regular meeting of representatives of the National Institutes for Culture of the European Union.

This meeting will serve to review and wrap up the actions carried out by each Institute and the EUNIC network over the course of the year. Imanol Otaegi, Etxepare’s Director of Cultural Promotion and Dissemination will be there to represent our Institute. The meeting will also address the 2020 work agenda of EUNIC Brussels, as well as the strategic activities to be carried out in conjunction with several European institutions.

EUNIC is the European Union of National Institutes of Culture, whose goal is to foster collaboration at a cultural level among European countries. Etxepare has been a member since 2015, the first Institute to join the network that does not represent a State of the European Union. Since then Etxepare has been working on opportunities at an international level for the Basque cultural and creative sector, keeping in line with the strategy of European cultural diplomacy. Through its participation in the EUNIC network, this year Etxepare has participated in events in Brussels such as the Fete de la BD comic book fair, the Foire du livre book fair, and the Transpoesie poetry festival.

The EUNIC network is made up of institutes including the Cervantes Institute (Spain), the British Council (United Kingdom), the Goethe Institut (Germany) and the Alliance Française (France), among others.
