Euskara. Kultura. Mundura.

The Donostia 2016 Space will host from 21 to 27 November an exhibition of the work of six Basque and Polish artists, as the result of an artistic exchange between the two cities that share the title of European Capital of Culture 2016. The exhibition, which aims to be a meeting place for artists, their works and the audience, will be divided into three parts and will show the results of several projects developed in the framework of a collaboration project between Donostia / San Sebastian 2016 and 2016 Wroclaw.

In July and August, the three Basque artists participated in an artistic residence program in Wroclaw called jointly by the Etxepare Basque Institute and Donostia 2016.. The exhibited artists and projects are the results of that stay: "Wroclaw -Donostia. Zubi bat ", am audiovisual proposal by Maialen Sarasua; "Hala bazan ... KLIXK" by Goiatz Labandibar, a creative writing project inspired by several pictures; and "Hiri-kit": an performative city audioguide designed for local citizens created by Matxalen de Pedro and Igor de Quadra, members of the art collective Horman Poster.

The second part will be a sample artistic research project on Basque cuisine called "Mahaiaren beste aldean / Po drugiej stronia stolu" ("On the other side of the table"), that will be developed by the Polish artists Magdalena Kreis, Natalia Romaszkan and Ewa Rebeka Sluzynska. The third part shows the material generated in the "On the other side of the table" project in various mediation efforts that have been made in collaboration with the school Intxaurrondo Hegoa as part of one of the main lines of work of the project DSS2016: the visibility of the processes of creation. This initiative, in collaboration with Gallery Arteko has enabled 160 children aged 5 to 11 years to incorporate their ideas into this artistic process that will be exhibited at the Donostia 2016 Space.
