The Cinemateca de Bogotá is set to showcase a film series that revolves around conflict and coexistence as part of a programme called ´Que haiga paz: campo visual, conflicto y memoria´.
In August, the Cinemateca de Bogotá will host a series of Basque films that revolve around the themes of conflict and coexistence. The films are part of the programme ‘Que haiga paz: campo visual, conflicto y memoria’ (Let there be peace: visual media, conflict and memory) promoted by Colombia’s Truth Commission (Comisión de la Verdad), Instituto Distrital de las Artes – Idartes – and the Etxepare Basque Institute. ‘Que haiga paz’ seeks to ignite a conversation around film, enabling us to observe and reflect on its place and narrative value within the Colombian armed conflict. The programme underscores the crucial role of Colombian society in facing the truth, enabling reflection on past events and ultimately facilitating the journey towards reconciliation.
