BIME (Bizkaia International Music Experience), a music festival held at the BEC- Bilbao Exhibition Center in Barakaldo, Bizkaia, is celebrating its fifth edition this year. From October 25th to 27th international artists join the line-up led by bands including Franz Ferdinand, The Prodigy and Royal Blood. But BIME is much more than a music festival. As part of the event, BIME Pro is an international meeting for professionals in the music sector. New this year is BIME City, a space for upcoming artists.

BIME Pro opens its doors on Wednesday October 25th to more than 2000 professionals from all over the world, including representatives from 180 Spanish festivals such as Primavera Sound, FIB and Dcode. Particular attention will focus on such topics as the situation of women in the music industry, technology, and the internationalization of independent music.

Basque Music, the platform created by the Etxepare Basque Institute, Euskadiko Soinuak and Musika Bulegoa, to raise the international profile of Basque music, will be present at the meeting. The platform supports a session of speed meetings exclusively for Basque professionals. The aim is to make the Basque music offer known to companies in Spain and to agents in other countries, and to work with others to raise the public profile of our artists and companies in the international market.

In its fifth edition, BIME also presents several novelties such as BIME City, a section dedicated to promising new artists. The bands Melenas and Los Brazos will take the stage in a joint showcase sponsored by the Basque Music project. The event will take place on Thursday, October 26th in the Bilborock room at 10:30 p.m.
