Lumi, the electronic pop duet consisting of Nahia Zubeldia and Manu Matthys, will perform on Thursday, September 19th, at the Atlàntida Auditorium as part of the Mercat de Vic official programme. The concert, organised by the Euskal Herriko Musika Bulegoa, the Barcelona Euskal Etxea and the Etxepare Basque Institute, will also serve to present the EH Sona Basque music festival programme to be held later in Barcelona.
The Mercat de Música Viva de Vic will feature other concerts by Basque bands, all of them to take place on September 20th. The band Sonakay, which unites flamenco music with Basque traditional songs, will be the first to go on stage, at 7:15 p.m. at the Atlàntida Auditorium. Overlapping a little bit with Sonakay, musician Joseba Irazoki will perform along with his band, Joseba Irazoki eta Lagunak, at 8 p.m. at the Carpa Vermella. Later, the band Exnovios will perform their garage-pop sound at the Jazz Cava club at 8:45 p.m. Last in the line-up, the dub and reggae duet Iseo & Dodosound, will get people dancing at El Sucre at 12:15 a.m.
Mercat de Música Viva de Vic is a professional meeting place for all sectors of the music industry. Every September since 1989, the city of Vic has brought together representatives of all areas of music from around the world for four days to share new developments, attend forums, exchange knowledge and buy and sell music. Basque music will also be represented at the fair at the Basque Music stand. Catalogues will be available of the latest releases in Basque music.
