Basque artists Aitor Gametxo and Diego Vivanco, selected to develop an artistic project in Wroclaw, thanks to the mobility program "Joan-etorriak"
Euskara. Kultura. Mundura.
For the third consecutive year, the Etxepare Basque Institute, the Donostia 2016 Foundation and Donostia Kultura have created a call within the program ´Back and forth´ (‘Joan-etorriak / De ida y vuelta’), for Basque creators to have the opportunity to enjoy an artistic residence in the city of Wroclaw. Proposals from different artistic fields could be submitted to this call -which was created with the aim of promoting mobility, dialogue between cultures and collaborative work - if they were under the work lines of the European Capitals of Culture 2016: Wroclaw and Donostia.
The organizing institutions announced the selected artists today: Aitor Gametxo and Diego Vivanco. The first one will create a portrait of the city of Wroclaw and the deaf community in the project City of Sounds and Silence; the second one wants to reflect the change and uncertainty that artists live in the project ¿Y mañana qué?.
