Author Angel Erro will participate in several literary events in Germany

The poet, columnist and translator Angel Erro will give readings in Berlin and Leipzig from the 24th to the 29th of October. The author from Navarre will offer German translations to his better-known poems in both cities. He will also participate in the II Translation Workshop of Weiden to translate his newest poems to Galician, Catalan and German.

On Wednesday, 24th October, Erro will read a poem called Gauean hondartzan pilotariak dantzan at the Clash in Berlin, as part of an event organized by the Readership of Freie University and the Berlin Euskal Etxea. On Thursday afternoon, Erro will read the same poem at the University of Leipzig.
From Friday to Monday, Erro will take part in the II Translation Workshop of Weiden, along with Galician poet Lucía Aldao, Catalan poet Clara Comas Barenys and Catalan translator Eduard Bartoll, among others. Much like last year’s Translation Workshop, which featured the work of Basque poet Rikardo Arregi, this year a poem by Angel Erro will be translated to Galician, Catalan and German.
The Translation Workshop of Weiden started last year. The aim is to collectively translate the poems of several minority language authors from the Iberian Peninsula, and to publish them in an anthology called (Q)adernos de Weiden. The initiative is organized by the University of Leipzig’s Institut für Angewandte Linguistik und Translatologie (IALT), with support from the Etxepare Basque Institute, the International Association of Catalan Language and Literature and the Spanish embassy in Berlin.
