Applications now open for research scholarship in Basque Studies at the University of Liverpool

In 2019 the University of Liverpool launched the Manuel Irujo Scholarship in Basque Studies as part of the Manuel Irujo Chair, created in 2015 by the Etxepare Basque Institute in partnership with the University of Liverpool. Applications for 2023 are now being accepted. The deadline is 30 June.
The Manuel Irujo Chair´s primary focus is the Basque exile, with the goal of advancing research and education on this subject. The programme is part of the University of Liverpool ‘Department of Cultures, Languages and Area Studies’.
The scholarship is designed to support a Master of Research in Basque studies ´Modern Languages and Cultures Master of Research’ at the University of Liverpool. The scholarship provides a bursary to help cover expenses for students undertaking a one-year Master of Research programme (approximately €4,600) beginning in September 2023..
Para optar a esta beca buscan estudiantes interesados/as en realizar una investigación sobre lengua, producción cultural, historia o política vasca; en especial, proyectos que incluyan estudios sobre memoria, exilio, diáspora y estudios europeos relacionados con la biografía y trabajo del político Manuel Irujo.
The scholarship is open to students interested in carrying out research on Basque language, cultural production, history or politics, particularly projects that include studies on memory, exile, diaspora and European studies related to the biography and work of the politician Manuel Irujo.
