The second edition of the Festival in Tribute to Aita Donostia pays homage to one of the Basque composer´s great musical inspirations: the Russian masters. Aita Donostia showed a deep admiration for composers such as Igor Stravinsky, Modest Mussorgsky and Mihael Glinka, to whom he dedicated one of his lectures. These others influenced his musical language and aesthetic vision. On this occasion, the festival celebrates this link between the work of Aita Donostia and the richness of Russian music, exploring a shared cultural heritage through his works.

This year, the festival will feature renowned international artists such as Anna Samouil, Tatiana Samouil, Natalia Tchitch, Andrei Korobeinikov, Pavel Gomzyakov, Josu Okiñena as well as emblematic ensembles such as the Easo Choir. Together with other groups, they will give life to a unique and diverse programme. The activities will extend to both Donostia and Madrid, and will offer a variety of formats ranging from chamber concerts to large symphonic concerts, designed to highlight the versatility of Aita Donostia´s work and its connection with Russian music.

As part of the festival, a Christmas concert has been organized in Madrid with the collaboration of the Etxepare Basque Institute.
