Born in San Sebastián, musician and composer Mikel Azpiroz Garmendia is known as a masterful pianist and keyboard player. He studied classical music at the conservatory, but soon felt the need to explore other genres, discovering his true artistic voice in jazz and blues.

Basque language immersion in Argentina
The Etxepare Basque Institute has organised a barnetegi, or Basque language immersion course, in Villa María (Córdoba, Argentina) as part of the Euskara Munduan programme. From January 18th to 25th, twenty students will participate in the course.
